Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Bismarck Hockey Boosters Hockey Program. Without each family contributing time to fill the many hours, BHB could simply not exist.  We greatly appreciate the work that everyone does to help make our children’s hockey experience a positive and enjoyable one and to make the BHB program successful.

This volunteer program supports BHB's vision for the growth of youth hockey in Bismarck, it will allow for the realization of exciting future plans, including:

  • Summer programs, camps and off-season ice
  • Staffing for personalized training and attention
  • Purchases including goalie gear, dryland equipment, pucks, nets, jerseys and more
  • Facilities, meeting and event space

Volunteer Policy:  All families regardless of level will be required to complete twelve (12) hours of volunteer time during the season. This is a per family requirement, regardless of the number of registered skaters.

As an BHB member you are required to complete your volunteer hours prior to March 31 each season.

Dibs:  BHB utilizes a volunteer sign-up system called Dibs.  After you register for this season, you can click on the Dibs tab in the navigation to see volunteer opportunities available throughout the season. You can also earn volunteer hours, or DIBS, by participating on a committee.

Cancellation: In the event that BHB must cancel a DIBS shift due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather or rink closure, the DIBS shifts will be cancelled, and the member will NOT receive DIBS credit for those shifts.
