We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a refreshed and re-energized version of a Bismarck Hockey favorite — introducing Bill’s Summer Skills – 10,000 Puck Challenge, proudly co-sponsored by Horizon Market and the Bismarck Bobcats!

This summer, we’re taking the challenge to the next level with a brand-new look, fresh ideas, enhanced skill-building content, and more opportunities to win prizes — all while honoring Bill Curl.

Bill Curl was instrumental in developing and overseeing the 10,000 Puck Challenge for many years for BHB, inspiring countless BHB players to improve their game during the off-season. This summer, we are proud to carry on his mission by naming the challenge in his honor and building on the foundation he created.

From May 1 to August 31, players will:

• Shoot toward the 10,000 puck goal;
• Take on weekly skills assignments designed to grow their game;
• Hit shot milestones (2,500 by June 1, 5,000 by July 1, and 7,500 by August 1) to earn entries into exclusive prize drawings;
• Submit videos for Fundamental Fridays for even more chances to win!

All participates who complete the challenge will receive

• A custom commemorative ring;
• Two tickets to a Bismarck Bobcats game;
• An invite to a special award ceremony;

We’re also bringing back some fan favorites with a twist:

• Tuesday Tips – featuring quick, practical tips to boost performance, with videos from our Hockey Director, local community members, and curated TikTok/YouTube content
• Weekly Leaderboard – track your progress and stay motivated as you move closer to 10,000 shots

This isn’t just about reaching a number — it’s about embracing hard work, discipline, and having fun while becoming a more complete hockey player.
