We’re excited to announce that Intro to Hockey will return this fall—and for the first time, we’re opening the program to 3-year-olds (as of May 31st of the current year).

This low-cost, beginner-friendly program is a great way for young kids to take their first strides on the ice in a fun, supportive environment. Whether your child has never skated before or is just starting to explore the game, Intro to Hockey is designed to build confidence while teaching the basics of skating and hockey.

All equipment is provided free of charge, thanks to the support of Bismarck Hockey Boosters and our generous sponsors.

For just $100, your child will receive six on-ice sessions along with all the equipment needed for the program. If your child chooses to register for the regular season after Intro to Hockey, they will be able to keep the equipment at no additional cost.

New this year, 3-year-old participants will also have the opportunity to continue their hockey journey after Intro to Hockey through our brand-new Mini Mites program—a two-month regular season option specifically designed for this age group beginning of November until the week prior to the holiday break in December.

Program Details:

• Six sessions of on-ice instruction

• Equipment provided at no cost

• $100 registration fee

• Open to children age 3 (by May 31st of the current year) through 4th grade

• Players are grouped by skating ability, not age

• Limited to 40 players per group

• All sessions take place at the VFW Sports Center – Rink 3

Please note:

• The Intro to Hockey program is open to youth who have not previously participated in any Bismarck Hockey Boosters programs.

• Children may only participate in the Intro to Hockey program once. If your child is very young and you don’t plan to register for the regular season afterward, you may want to wait until next year to ensure they get the most out of the experience.
