As we move further into the season, we need to reinforce a few key reminders regarding equipment and locker room use. Please take a moment to read through the information and review it with your player so everyone is clear on the expectations.

Following these guidelines will help avoid missed time on the ice and ensure practices and games run smoothly.

Required Capitals Gear for All Players
Per the BHB Handbook, the equipment policy will be followed for ALL practices and games in which BHB participates. There is a simple no tolerance rule to this policy. If the participant does not have all the required equipment, the coach or coordinator will not allow the participant on the ice.

  • Squirt/10U and Above: Navy gloves and navy hockey pants (breezers), white helmets and Capitals socks. It is mandatory for participants to wear gear with these colors.
  • Mini Mite, Termite & Mite Level: While Mini Mite, Termite & Mite Level players are not required to follow the Capitals color scheme, we strongly encourage families to keep it in mind when purchasing new equipment, as it will be required once the player reaches Squirt level.

All Levels

  • No other team names shall be displayed on practice jerseys, gloves, breezers, helmets, or any other mandatory equipment.
  • Additionally, players should remove all helmet stickers except the approved Bismarck Capitals sticker and/or the #JaggsStrong sticker.

If a player arrives wearing gear that does not align with the above standards and/or displays another team’s name or unapproved stickers, they will be asked to remove it and will not be allowed back on the ice until they are wearing the proper gear.

No Equipment Left in Locker Rooms—Ever
Under no circumstances may any player or parent leave equipment, clothing, gear bags, or personal items in the locker rooms at any time before or after practices/games. Even if the schedule appears open, that is not always the case, and leaving items behind creates significant issues for coaches, teams, and rink staff.

We appreciate your cooperation and attention to these expectations.
