Thank you to all who came out to the parent meetings. Those are always an important piece of the season, as you are given a lot of information! For those that were unable to attend, we do hope to get the basic information from those meetings relayed to everyone via our website in the coming week or so.
The biggest hangup for most of you right now is when does the season start and how will we know where to be and when? Right now, we are hoping to have evaluation groups set for U10/Squirts/Mites/Termites by Saturday afternoon. We are seeing a high volume of registrations still today so we are trying to wait to set these groups until we think everyone has registered.
The evaluation groups will be sent via email and also posted on our website. They will be posted under the appropriate level for each group.
Squirts/U10 will start their evaluations on October 22 and run through the weekend. Mites and Termites will start their evaluations on October 27. Exact days and times are posted on our calendar.
Please make sure you play around with the calendar so you know how to use it. There is a "tag" menu at the bottom of the calendar so you can check the appropriate box for your team. You will need to check at least one team for your level to see the days/times for evaluations. Once you know your team, you should be able to check just your team's tag and follow them on the calendar. You may also want to check the Bismarck Hockey Boosters tag at the top of the tag menu so you also know what is happening in Bismarck Hockey.
Teams for U10/Squirts/Mites/Termites levels will be posted early in the week following the evaluations. Again, those will be sent via email and also posted to our website, under the appropriate level.
Once the teams are posted, you will see your team's practices and games listed on our calendar. It is at this time that you should only have to check your team's tag on the calendar and follow that throughout the season.
You can expect to see practices one evening a week for Termites and Mites and usually 2-3 times a week for Squirts/U10. Termites and Mites will also have practices and games Saturdays and Sundays. Squirts/U10 will likely have games on the weekends, too. However, we cannot provide you with a set schedule, nor are we able to provide a full schedule for the entire season at the onset of the season - this is due to many factors but the biggest reason is that we share the ice with many organizations so our ice time changes from day to day and from month to month. We try to schedule at least 3 weeks ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.
Another set of questions we receive often is in regards to our emails we send off - sometimes not everyone gets them. Please check your Sports Engine account and ensure that both parents or guardians have email addresses linked to your account. This is the only way you will receive the emails. If you do this and you still are not receiving the emails, please contact Sports Engine. BHB is not able to help much more than to ensure there is a primary and secondary email address listed for each parent/guardian.
Please remember to keep an eye on our website, our Facebook page and the calendar on our website. These 3 areas should keep you up to date and provide you with the latest information.
And, as always, please let us know if you have questions. We try to be as helpful and informative as possible and also try to respond as quickly as we can when members have questions; but please keep in mind that many of us are volunteers and this comes secondary to our main jobs and our always busy lives so we may not always be available at the drop of a hat.
Thanks for signing up with Bismarck Hockey for a great season of hockey!
