Termites Group Adjustments

I just wanted to reach out and communicate about a minor adjustment that we will be making for all of our termite groups. Currently, termites are scheduled to have a ‘game’ every week. During games, the volume of puck touches and skating reps that each individual gets is significantly lower that what we aim to get during our practices. We will move to a scheduled game every other week for the remainder of the season, please keep an eye out for the adjustments on the schedule. This will not change any of our scheduled time slots.

For our youngest groups to build a strong foundation, they need to get more touches with the puck, more work with their skating, and increase their active time during practice. At the termite level, we may have some players that get 0 puck touches during a game, and we want to attempt to develop each individual throughout the season so they can have success for years to come.  They will accomplish these things at a higher rate with more practice time and less games. We will still add in ‘scrimmage’ type stations, so the kids still get to compete in a game-like setting within practices.
