By Bismarck Hockey Boosters, 06/26/24, 5:15PM CDT

2024-2025 Regular Season Registration

We are excited to announce that registration for the 2024-2025 regular season will officially open on Monday, July 1st at 8am! It's hard to believe it's that time already, but we are eagerly anticipating another successful season ahead.

All board members, coaches, locker room monitors, and team managers will also register alongside our players. Referee Registration will be separate this year and will open on Thursday, August 1st, 2024.

Before registering, please review this important information, as there are some changes that have taken place, and we want to make sure everyone understands what they agree to when they register for the season.

The BHB Handbook has been updated, along with all policies.  We ask that all members review this handbook, as there are important updates to policies and how each level is structured.  Upon registering, you are agreeing that you have read all information contained in the Handbook and you agree to all policies.  You can find this and other policies here.

By registering for the season, you agree that you have read, you understand, and you agree to all policies and requirements put into place by BHB, NDAHA, and USA Hockey.

  • The registration link can be found here.
  • You must register EACH YEAR through USA Hockey before registering with BHB by clicking here.
  • Please make sure you enter your child's information correctly, as it is difficult to change once it is time to roster kids.
  • Please register all siblings together under one registration.  This makes it easier to track families across all levels.

We are pleased to announce the scheduled dates for the BHB tryouts for the upcoming season:

  • Bantam/15U Girls/Peewee Tryouts: September 30th-October 4th
  • Squirt/10U Girls/12U Girls Tryouts: October 7th-11th
  • Mite/8U Girls Evaluations: October 14th-16th

Please mark your calendars accordingly. Detailed information regarding tryout layout, times and locations, will be shared at a later time. Specific questions can be directed to

Early Bird Discounts will automatically be applied if you register prior to August 1.  On August 1, the discount is no longer valid, and the fees increase by $400 for Squirt/10U and up.

If you are expecting to receive a discount outside of the Early Bird Discount for the upcoming hockey season, please email PRIOR to registering to receive your discount code.  You will need to include your child's level of play and how many children you are registering at one time. Refunds will not be provided after the fact.

Coaches MUST be certified and registered prior to December 31 in order to receive any compensation, reimbursement, and/or DIBS credit. NO EXCEPTIONS!

You can find the requirements and expectations for Bismarck Hockey coaches on our coaches page.

Key requirements include:

  1. Registering with USA Hockey.
  2. Completing a background screening (Valid for two years).
  3. Completing Safe Sport Training annually.
  4. Completing the Foundations of Player Development and age-specific modules.
  5. Attending a Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic by December 31.
  6. Completing the BHB Regular Season Registration.

All families regardless of level will be required to complete twelve (12) hours of volunteer time during the season. This is a per family requirement, regardless of the number of registered skaters.

During registration a family may choose a “Buyout” option for their required DIBS. If this option is chosen during registration the full DIBS fee of $500.00 will be charged and the family will be free of their DIBS obligation for the season. Any family choosing the “Buyout” option will not be eligible for any DIBS incentives given during the season.

Each family will be required to complete their required DIBS shifts prior to April 15, 2025 or the family will be assessed a $500.00 fee for non-completion. Once your DIBS are completed for the season, you will be marked COMPLETE on the DIBS Tracking Sheet. If you do not fulfill your DIBS requirements, you will be sent an invoice for the $500.00, which is due on May 1 of that year. If you do not pay your invoice prior to May 1, you will be assessed a $50.00 late fee and your player will not be able to attend any BHB activities or events until all fees are paid in full.

BHB members who volunteer as a Team Manager, Board Member, or Locker Room Monitor, will receive twelve (12) hours of DIBS credit. A list of these volunteers must be submitted to the BHB Executive Director prior to December 31 in order to be eligible for the DIBS credit.

Any full-time rostered coach who has a USA Hockey registration number, Coaches CEP, and has completed SafeSport, a background check and the module requirements at their level will receive twelve (12) hours of DIBS credit, so long as the certified coach is present at 80% of all games and practices.

Moving Up

If your child is moving up a level due to continuing to play with his/her grade level in school, please contact the Executive Director at to confirm.  If any members falsely provide information to BHB pertaining to their child's registration information, there will be disciplinary action taken.

BHB appreciates the value of our volunteers, and we would not be successful if it were not for the hard work and dedication of our great team of volunteers for our Fundraising & Events Committee.

BHB hopes you will consider serving on the Fundraising & Events Committee for the 2024-2025 season.

Volunteers are critical to the success of the BHB Program, and it would not be possible without the selfless efforts of our volunteers offering their time and talents to help our youth hockey program function.

Volunteers who commit and serve the entire 24-25 season will have an opportunity to have their DIBS waived and up to one (1) registration fee reimbursed.

In a situation where BHB receives an overflow of applications, a review process will be had to narrow down the members of our committees. You will be notified of your volunteer assignment.

If you are interested in the Fundraising and Events Committee and/or would like to learn more, please go to for additional information and/or to submit a volunteer form.
