HOCKEY DIRECTOR

The Hockey Director is responsible for oversight and management of the youth hockey on-ice programs for the Organization. The primary job responsibilities include managing and recruiting on-ice personnel, player development and evaluation, travel and rec league planning, jersey and equipment/gear inventory, member communication, and keeping the board and Executive Director informed on organizational changes. This position will report directly to the Executive Director for all administrative and programming duties and responsibilities and will work closely with the Hockey Committee and Assistant Hockey Director on the programming aspects of the Organization. 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• 5+ years of hockey knowledge and/or experience
• Experienced leader and team player, with skills related to effectively managing people, developing and implementing program plans, and ability to work well with leadership
• Investment in the Bismarck Hockey Boosters program and a desire to develop and grow youth hockey within our community
• Previous experience working with youth preferred but not required
• Detail and task-oriented
• Available to work flexible hours, including required nights and weekends
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to understand tasks assigned and meet required deadlines
• Proven ability to create, develop, and execute plans related to the hockey programming and the operational needs of the Organization
• Strong sense of self-motivation to take initiative to complete job duties
• Capable of recognizing Organizational needs and assisting staff in all areas 
• Computer skills and the ability to utilize technology to complete daily tasks, including word processing software and database programs, alongside adapting to technological changes
• Must be registered with USA Hockey and complete required Background Check and Safesport certification
• Must have or be able to obtain a Level 4 Coaching Certification
